Yesterday on Wednesday, the main square held the presentation of the new image Manresa 2022 which is borned with the will of going in depth in the city transformation and its society and fills with content the 500 year-old celebration of St Ignatius stay in Manresa. Over 80 people -linked to entities, institutions and commissions and working committees who have grown the project- participated in the discovery of a huge canvas with the new logo, which is already displayed in the main square.

The new image emerges from the union between the Ignatian path symbol and and eye, representing the transforming viewpoint of a project which, as the mayor Marc Aloy Guàrdia said ‘It has already worked and still will to change the city physically, and even more important, it has to lead to a personal and collective transformation as a city, its people and society. Ignatius of Loyola did it in the 16th century, a period full of changes, like nowadays. We also want to do it in the year 2022’. The mayor also referred to the presentation of the image in front of more than 80 people: ‘citizens, entities representatives and individuals who support or are linked to the project somehow. We believe this demonstrates it’s a project with muscles and strength, a true inspiring and joining city plan.

Just after the presentation of the new image, the civic plenary session took place in Els Carlins theatre, in the presence of about 80 people. The civic plenary is a meeting with citizens about the tracking and feedback of the project, where entities and involved individuals attend, specially the commissions and working committees that have filled it with contents. As the councillor of Tourism and Projection of the City Joan Calmet Piqué highlighted, since 2014 -when the project started- five more civic plenary sessions have taken place. Yesterday it was the sixth one, the most special, since the first tunes of the programme, which is going to be shown throughout the year 2022, were given.
