Saint Ignatius Festivities

The Festivities of St. Ignatius has its origins in 1622.

Ignatius of Loyola was canonised in 1622, and the city hosted these Festivities in his honour. What's more, it coincided with the centenary of his stay in Manresa (March 1522).

Traditionally, they have been organized by the association of merchants, with various activities within the Historical Center, and the Sanctuary of the Cave, which offers masses in different Ignatian places.

The City Council has joined the program of events of these festivities by organizing a series of cultural and recreational activities, to encourage participation and make it more attractive. It aims to keep alive the memory of the pilgrim St. Ignatius and do so in a festive space of coexistence and harmony.

These festivities are an ideal setting to help consolidate the Historical Center, an area that struggles to recover the vitality that had characterized it in the past.
