Ignasiana BTT 2023

The Ignasiana BTT [The Ignatius Mountain Bike Route] is a 115-km mountain bike, Gravel and EBike selfguided route that follows the final stages of the Ignatian Way, from Verdu to Manresa, passing through Cervera, Igualada and Montserrat. Participating cyclists have a fantastic opportunity to discover the different counties of the final stretch of the Ignatian Way.

The Ignasiana BTT traces the footsteps of Ignatius of Loyola, giving participating cyclists the opportunity to relive his experience and enjoy the landscapes that captivated him on his way to Manresa. Participants can follow the route trodden by Saint Ignatius and rediscover the landscapes, towns and cities that accompanied and inspired this world-renowned figure on his way to Manresa.

This linear route begins in Verdú and passes through Cervera, Igualada, Sant Pau de la Guàrdia, Marganell and the slopes of Montserrat before ending at the entrance to La Cova de Manresa (also known as The Cave of Saint Ignatius). This is the spot where, almost 500 years ago, Ignatius arrived after deciding to leave his military career behind in search of a new way of life.

The route, which has a total ascent of 2,158 metres and a total descent of 2,371 metres, can be completed in a single day if you are used to cycling for long distances.

The track has been specially designed, adapting the Ignatian Way main track to mountain bikes (Gravel or Ebike), avoiding roads and dangerous sections.
